Privacy Policy

The short version

Your collection lives on your phone. If you use iCloud, it keeps your devices in sync, and a free Upsleeve account keeps a backup; neither is required. Upsleeve has no ads, doesn't track you across other apps or websites, and never sells your information.

Your collection

Cards, prices, notes and photos are stored on your device. If iCloud is on for Upsleeve, Apple also keeps a copy in your private iCloud database so your devices stay in sync. We can't read it, and iCloud isn't required.

If you make an account

An account is optional. With one, we store your email address, username, display name, bio and picture, your friends, the entries in your friends' feeds, the collection you choose to share, and a backup of your collection: your cards, goals, value history, grading submissions and pack openings, without photos. The backup refreshes once a day while you're signed in, unless you switch that off. Our database host, Supabase, keeps them for us. A shared collection can be seen by anyone with its link. If you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us your name and email address (or a private relay address) the first time.

We also keep the people you block and the reports you send. A report reaches our moderator with your username; the person you report isn't told who sent it. We review reported profiles, pictures and posts, and remove content or accounts that break the Community Guidelines.

Delete your account from Profile → Profile → Delete Account and all of this goes with it, including your blocks and reports. If you signed in with Apple, Upsleeve also comes off your Sign in with Apple list.

Photos and AI features

When you scan a card, check a grade or ask for a brief, the photo or the card details go through our server to Anthropic, our AI provider, to answer that request, and we don't keep them. A new profile picture is checked the same way, for anything the Community Guidelines don't allow, before it's saved as your picture.

Prices and card data

To show prices and card details, the app sends card names, sets and numbers to our price server and to card-data providers. These requests carry nothing about you.

Notifications

If you turn on release alerts or friend notifications, we store your device's notification token and what you follow, only to send those notifications. Turn them off and the token is deleted.

Location

When you tap Find stores near me, your location is used once, on your device, with Apple Maps. It is never sent to us.

Purchases

Upsleeve Pro is sold and billed by Apple. We learn only whether your subscription is active, never your payment details.

Store links

Links to stores such as TCGplayer, eBay and Best Buy may carry an affiliate tag, so Upsleeve may earn a commission when you buy through them. Once you're on a store's site, its own privacy policy applies.

The services we use

Supabase stores accounts, shared collections and backups. Netlify runs our price server. Anthropic answers the AI features. Apple runs iCloud, notifications and purchases. They handle your information for us only to provide those parts of Upsleeve.

Children

Accounts are meant for people 13 and older. If you think a child under 13 has made one, contact us and we'll delete it.
